CONSTRUCTION OF VELA LAMJANA FISHING PORT IN KALI, UGLJAN ISLAND

After completion of the first phase of the modernization and expansion of the Vela Lamjana fishing port at the end of 2020, the works of phase 2 continue, which include the construction of the following facilities:

  • office building with a room for an ice machine - ground floor + 1, floor plan area 300 m2, gross area approx. 535 m2, height 7.4 m. The purpose of the building is administrative and is part of the fishing harbour complex. On the ground floor, there is a lobby with a main staircase, a bathroom, a meeting room, and an area for ice machines. On the first floor there is a hall for the education of fishermen, offices, sanitary facilities with toilets, wardrobe, showers and a laundry room; and rooms for servers and video surveillance.
  • covered work area - open-type hall - floor plan built-up area 1604 m2, gross area approx. 1304 m2, height 9.4 m. The purpose of the hall is a covered work area for carrying out fishing activities on land.
  • internal ring road
  • drainage channel - in order to collect catchment water, which gravitates towards the operational areas and facilities of phase II of the fishing harbour in the Vela Lamjana bay, two canals are constructed that extend around the perimeter of the harbour area. The west canal has a total length of 296.14 m. the east canal has a total length of 281.20 m, operating space for transhipment and storage of fish, and disposal of fishing equipment - approx. 7680 m2.

Work on phase 2 of the construction of the fishing port in Vela Lamjana began in December 2022 and is expected to last 13 months. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
