DEVELOPMENT OF THE OMIŠ PORT OPEN TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT– PHASE 2
The project titled Development of the Omiš Port – Phase 2 of Construction, involves reconstruction and expansion of the maritime port in Omiš. The location of the works for Phase 2 extends from the eastern end of Fošal towards the southeast along DC8 up to Put Skalica. The planned expansion of the existing port comprises the land section and maritime sea area where the area of the port will be increased by almost 10,000 square metres. This project is part of the investment maintenance cycle in island links and renewal of small maritime ports by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure.
This phase of the project envisages filling in the terrain up the level of the rock base of the state road and landscaping the terrain with municipal equipment and horticultural works to the area between the new foreshore line and the southern side of the new pavement along the reconstructed walkway. To the east of the existing jetty – old pier, the area between the new foreshore line and southern side of the new pavement along the reconstructed walkway, covering a total length of 350 metres, the riviera will also be municipally equipped as a public walkway. The peripheral belt of the developed foreshore, east of the existing jetty is envisaged as part of the Omiš port for temporary – summer berths. The building in the sea section comprises extended section, such as the new coastal line A, coastal line B, extension of the existing pier (coastal line C) and coastal line D. The layout area of this newly built structure in the sea section covers 7,435 m2.
