RECONSTRUCTION OF „KOSTAJNICA“ BRIDGE OVER RIVER UNA IN HRVATSKA KOSTAJNICA AND REMOVAL OF DEBRIS OF „JASENOVAC“BRIDGE

“Kostajnica“ bridge - removal of damaged structural parts (blasted in war) and the execution of complete new two spans, remedial works on other spans (total span 180 m); „Jasenovac“ bridge – removal of immersed former bridge debris from river Una using underwater concrete and steel cutting and blasting methods. All works were done under water by scuba divers. The debris was collected from the river bottom by crawler crane with grab bucket and clam shell set on the barge and driven by motor tugs. The execution of works was very delicate considering that two different river banks were held by belligerent parties and considering the bureaucratic procedure for border crossing, in particular since the precast pre-stressed beams were executed in Croatia and transported to Bosnian side.
