THE PUBLIC INSTITUTION PAKLENICA NATIONAL PARK

The tunnel complex Visitor Centre - Paklenica Underground Town was made at the Paklenica National Park.

The Visitor Centre comprises underground tunnels, popularly called bunkers which were built in the period from 1950-53 for the needs of the former Yugloslav Army. The works included construction, trade and interior works on furbishing two exhibition halls along with evacuation halls, sanitary amenities and climatized chambers.

The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and the Croatian Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs.
